A ONE-OF-A-KIND FIND FOR THE TRUE COLLECTOR.
Exquisite in every way, this outstanding saddle and martingale comes from Ted Flowers Saddlery, who was renowned for crafting unrivaled parade saddles and known to craft works of art for the likes of Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Remarkably, the saddle dating circa 1940s-50s is in original mint condition, acquired from the estate of a respected Montana collector. The saddle is heavily adorned with original silver work, mostly nickel silver with diamond shaped scales each having hand- tooled finishes. The saddle is covered almost completely in silversmithing / silver work with a silver covered horn, cantle, pommel rise, and more. This one-of-a-kind work of art is a museum-quality collectible, an investment piece for the true collector.
Ted Flowers was one of the more prolific parade saddle makers of the 1930-1950’s with some of his famous customers being Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Some of his saddles were part of the famous Sharky's Nugget Casino Collection in Reno, NV. which sold in 2002. Early examples from the 1930-1940’s were done on L.V. Frazier Farm and Home Supply Indianapolis, IN. Ted Flowers began making his own tooled saddles with silver work in the 1940-1950’s.
